Eating at McDonalds Analogy

So imagine, if you will, that your parents brought you to McDonald's every day when you were a kid. What if they told you that eating at McDonald's was actually good for you? What if they forbade you to eat anywhere else? What if they told you that if you felt sick after eating at McDonald's, that it was your fault for not having the right attitude towards McDonald's? I think that this analogy sums things up quite accurately for some of us.

We stopped eating at McDonald's, and now we feel better. But sometimes we still feel a bit resentful because of all of those greasy cheeseburgers we were forced to eat. We wonder how our lives would have turned out if we had a different diet for the first part of our lives.
